No. 31 :
The very fact that kids will "try" thgings doesn't mean they should be encouraged to. You can mentor them with the same thoughts of making sure of what they do before they do it without ENCOURAGING them do do what they need PROTECTED from....illicit meaningless sex and ILLEGAL drug use. The "professionals" involved must be mentally ill. Good old ultra-liberal Boulder Colorado. Bill O'Reilly is right about liberalism destroying America.

This forum is unacceptable for a high school audience. This should be kept for college students. These children are still children and these "educated" speakers (most of their english & sentence structure is horrid) have just undermined all the moral work I have done as a parent.

What in Gods name is this? Why would a person want this trash talked to their child? I am just in shock and apalled. As the mother of a 15 and 3 year old, both females, this is just proof of how sickening our world has become...

I graduated from BHS in 2002, and when I heard about another contraversy at my school from my old friends still living in Boulder, the first thing I said was "Here we go again."

Truthfully, things like this are common at my old high school. We had a mini panal, that was somewhat like this one, in my Health Class senior year.

There have probably been more things like this at BHS that have not been reported because it is a common occurance.

This sort of thing is wrong and should be done away with altogether. This response against this "forum" is not an overreaction; it is simply people who have moral values stating that they do not want their children to experience anything like this.

I believe there should be some action taken against the school district at every level possible. The administration knew this was wrong, and knew that it was quite possibly a career-damning move. They knew it, and let it continue. For that reason alone they should be punished.

I hope these reactions will open the eyes of the public to the problmes faced in Boulder right now. This forum only scratches the surface in a long list of incidents that have happened at BHS.

I guess we'll hear alot more about this since O'Reilly has put it on his show. Overall I can see where the panelists are coming from, they are liberals, so it's no surprise that they would encourage the young people to have sex and do drugs. I mean that would increase their chances of "hookin up" with a teenage girl after all. Word for the day kids, is "SICKO". I agree with Dennis Miller on this, if my kids were in that school and forced to listen to that garbage, I would have gone down there and slapped somebody. Kudos to the student at the end who stuck up for his/her beliefs.

I'm dismayed that Boulder allowed that kind of trash to take place in their school. Kids know what's happening in the world and parents are trying to keep their kids off of that garbage so idiots like those on the PANEL plus the high school need their heads examined.

Perhaps it'd be a good idea to for respondents to actually READ the transcript before they critique it. It's pretty clear that few here have.

This is truly an outrage, but more importantly it saddens me that children are being abused by exposure to this type of dangerous thinking.

I will assume that those who think this presentation wa wrong are the same as those who believe in 'abstinence only' which has ever workes anywhere.

All they are saying here that if you go to a party, abstain, but take along a condom for assurance, just as you would take a good spare tire on a long trip.

Let's start by saying that I have read the transcript...since some want to make the a prerequisite for entering the discussion.

The attitude that "they are going to do it anyways" is a simple cop-out..an abdication of the responsibility of an adult to teach our youth the difference between right and wrong.

I'm sorry for those who take offense with other people telling them how to live their lives. Guess what, that's what society is all about. Standards for "normal" acceptable behavior are the glue that enables us to interact in a civil way.

And to the youth responding here...all of us old folks have been where you are. We all had our youth when we thought we knew it all and were able to make responsibile decisions. No matter how smart and mature you are as a teen the one thing we all lack at that age is experience. And the only way to gain experience is with age. And with the experience comes the realization just how naive you were when you are young. Unfortunately, you won't believe this until you are old yourself.
